Third day and the final full day of the competition.

5.4

Today was launch day and it was both succesful and and stressful. We nearly didn't bring our rocket with us, but one of our team members ran and got it. Meteoria was a nice but comld place to be. It was cold as hell there, and we nearly froze doing our launch. Two of our swedish speaking team members got interviewed by Yle and also by Sundom tv, the rest of us also got to intruduce our selves and answer a few questions by Sundom tv. We had some issues during our launch, first after we already had loaded the can was loaded into the can and on the launch rail, we stopped reseaving data and realised that we needed to change the battert. After that no issues and it got launched, then the second issue arose, we lost the can because the parachute didn't deploy, so we couldn't find it. Luckily that we had a GPS. We then input that into a phone and went to the coordinates, we didn't find it. We then left Meteoria to have lunch and make a new game plam of what we were going to do. We had to be driven to technobothnia by one of the rocket guys because the bus had already left without us. During the ride back we got info that our can was found! it tuned out to have landed nead the launch site and was in decent condition. So when we got it back we saw that all of the tech worked and we just needed get a new can printed to that we can relaunche our can tomorrow if we can. After we had lunch and dinner, we needed to go to a lecture by Kvarken space center that was ok, but afterwards we finally got to go to the arcade. The arcade was amazing and all of us had an incredible amount of fun. We left the arcade at about 21:00 and we were the last people to leave because we were the only local group there. We hope to have an even more succesful second launch tomorrow, the limited amount of data that we got was good, but we didn't really get to see how effective the airbag was, because that was the only thing cushioning it as the parachute didn't work.

First competition day is here! We first had a meeting to introduce and open the CanSat competiton, all of the teams also got to introduce themselver and our introduction presentation at the beginning of the day we also feel that we made an excelent firts impression. The tour of Technobothnia was also interesting. Today was a very succesful day for us as we passed the tecnical inspection by the rocket guys, aka the people in charge of launghing the rocket. We also feel that the judges likes our pre-launche presentation and that we feel confident that we have a hight chance of winning. Also we got given the very importans safety breafing so that we know what to and not do tomorrow at meteoria. The food that we were fed was also excelent and we were given alot of it there. We also got a rival in the form of the group at one of the table next to us, that being CanLär, from the school in Helsinki Lärkan, the only other Swedish school competing. Their schools group was the one that won last year, both the Finnish and European competitions, but they kind of want their can to explode, so there is that. Final fixes and intergrations were made and we are ready to launch tomorrow morning.

Today was our final crunch day, we finished everything. The final airbag prototype was made out of nylon, but in couldn't be used due to the fact that the nylon that was bought is not air thight. The parachute was also made out of the same neon orange nylon, so we will certainly find it after it lands. Everything when it comes to the can was completed aswell, but we were having some issues with the airpump and airbag, those have luckily been resolved. Because were in school for so long, our team leader ordered us pizza to make sure we don't starve and it worked great as a morale booster. We ate the pizza at about 16:00 o'clock and we left school minutes before the schools alarm went on at 22:00 o'clock, so that was something. All of us are looking forward to the competition days.

Today was a long work day for us, as alot of us started up working on our CanSat at about 12:30, such a fun way for us to spend our easter Monday. We had two cans that were printed during the weekend that we got to use to figure out how everything will fin it it. New prototypes for both the parachute and airbag were made from plastic bags, our team member doing that made great headway when it comes to that. Two of our team member also finished making and cutting out our antenna, which will then be customiced more to really make it look like a shied. It also was tested to see if it actually works, which it does. Wednesday will be our final work day, as the compotition starts on Thursday, so lets just say that Wednesday will be one hell of a crunch day.

22.3

Today we finished writing and handed in our pre-launch report and handed it in on time. Our report is an excelent foundation for our future presentations to the judges.

Another productive after school spent working on our CanSat. Great headway was made in our hardware team, as they were working on soldering wires when it comes to connecting our airpump to the battery. And our software team were hard at work testing that their code was functional and working, and all of the code involving the battery is up and running do that was a moment of celebration for us :) But more work is needed when it comes to cleaning everything up. Research was made about how and from what materials we should make our parachute out of and social media post were also made on our Instagram and TikTok. Who can forget the fact that much progress was made with out pre-launch report that will e handed in by us at the latest on the deadline 22.3, so this weeks Friday. Us musketeers still have 2 weeks before the competition, so a couple more Wednesday after school sessions will be held and we also will most likely be spending out Easter Monday celebrating it by working all noon and afternoon on our beatiful CanSat.

Today during our luch break we were working on our CanSat and during that time we had the honour to meet the Minister of Education of Finland Anna-Maja Henriksson, and one of our team members Leo got to introduce our CanSat project and our ideas. It was quite a productive hour of work overall and a moral boost with meeting Minister Henriksson. Check out the post made on Instagram
